I’m admittedly not very good at asking for help with my campaign, but today I’m going to take a deep breath and try. I’ve got three simple requests, each of which will take you less than a minute – perhaps you can help me out with one or more?
First, I’m looking for people to host a lawn sign in their front yards, which will help ensure that your neighbors know you support me for Trustee. I’ll deliver the sign right to your door; you would just need to spend a minute or two putting it in the best spot in your yard 🙂 If that’s something you’re willing to do, click here to fill out a three-question form so I can get you on my list.
If you’re looking for other ways to support, it would also be a huge help to “share” my Facebook page with a few friends, so they too can receive my updates on Town issues and events. Click below to “like” my page if you haven’t already, then click here to share it on your timeline or in a private message with a quick note.
Finally, despite running a very lean / mostly digital campaign, I’d appreciate any donations you’re willing to make to help pay for the cost of the signs / other campaign expenses. If you’re able to contribute financially, you can donate in just a few clicks here.
Thank you so much for reading my pleas for help! I’ll leave you with this blog post by Jordan Reid on accepting help. I’ve sent it to a few friends, but have to confess that up till now, I haven’t been good at practicing it myself. And if you’d like something longer form on the topic, check out one of my favorite books of all time, Tiffany Dufu’s Drop the Ball – a fabulous manifesto on prioritizing what’s important to you, ditching the rest, and asking for help rather than trying to do everything. I’m clearly still working on all that myself 🙂
Happy Monday!
